I came accross this quote from Charles Spurgeon on Steve Camp's Blog.....
Read this and imagine the response the average chruch attendee might have........
"If the professed convert distinctly and deliberately declares that he knows the Lord's will but does not mean to attend to it, you are not to pamper his presumption, but it is your duty to assure him that he is not saved. Do not suppose that the Gospel is magnified or God glorified by going to the worldlings and telling them that they may be saved at this moment by simply accepting Christ as their Savior, while they are wedded to their idols, and their hearts are still in love with sin. If I do so I tell them a lie, pervert the Gospel , insult Christ, and turn the grace of God into lasciviousness." -C.H. SPURGEON
How far we have come.......
True faith in Christ alone saves..... NO WORKS ......and such faith is always accompanied by repentance.
The gospel has not changed...!!!
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.

Well said. You would think that this guy Spurgeon would have gone on to be a famous preacher. :)
I think one of the problems we are facing in our western "christian" culture is that too many people are just adding or trying to tag on Jesus to the rest of their life. In others words my life (what I want to do)+ Jesus = Salvation. How wrong they are and what a terrifying day it will be for them to find out they are wrong should they not repent.
....how true....
I think of the words of Christ in Matt. ch. 7: "Not everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord', will enter the kingdom of Heaven...........
